At long last met Romano here, regarding getting a bore. Training the girls for Benalla, slow progress. Sold 30 lambs direct to Gathercoles the abattoir. This drought seens likely to keep going. So keen to reduce stock numbers. The luxtonblacks looking good on summer pasture.

Spoke to John in Bathurst. He is also breeding black sheep using black faced dorper and wiltipolls. Also has a black aussie white. He confirms that black sheep are resistant to phototoxic plants. His piebald sheep show phototoxic changes in the white areas. So black is best!
Feb 19.
Rams in on the 17.2. Firestorm and Argo with stud flocks. Massimo and Last gasp in with commmercials. Seymour show was great fun. Silage now every 3 days and studs getting crushed lupins 350 gms per week. Still dry. Yards at 44 now incorporating Hecton race.

30c today @ 2.00pm. Fed out silage yesterday to Commercials and Blacks and mostly eaten. Studs received one today. Lambs putting on weight in summer fodder.

13.5.15 Three lambs to slaughter this morning. 0ne to Paul pick up sat am. . Rat’s tail hacked out. More gravel in front of shed to stop flooding. Rain most of the afternoon – 16 mm 19.5.15 10 mm rain. Stud ewe lambs drenched and y/b 05 and 06 selected and put in stud ewe flock. […]
